Leo Is on the Air - Old Time Radio

Leo Is on the Air

MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) movie studios devised a clever means to attract radio listeners to attend its movies. Dating as far back as 1934, these 15-mihute advertisements captured the same qualities still used in the film industry's "Coming Attractions."

Named after and featuring the iconic MGM lion seen at the beginning of all the studio's productions, the programs feature actual movie clips of dialogue and music to enhance the announcers' enthusiastic synopses.
